Making stories and drawing characters are not that easy. It just takes time and patience to gain experiences and to figure out what you want your characters and stories to be, even Manga and Anime. People do get drawing block and struggle when they first start doing it and when they don't know what they want their stories and characters to be, but I did learn a few advice that might help

FOR STORIES (Even Manga and Comic Books):

Advice #1:
- Write a list of what happens in the "BEGINNING" of the story, the "MIDDLE" of the story, and the "END" of the story

- Write down any scenes and ideas that you imagined or whatever comes into your mind about what you want to happen in your story, try adding any of them in between the "BEGINNING" and the "MIDDLE" of you story (Inlcuding the "MIDDLE" and the "END"), and see if you like it or not.

Advice #2:
- If you're working on a story that already exists and you want to make a new version of it (like "Treasure Planet" is a new version of "Treasure Island"), you can write down the story and make changes of it by adding your own ideas and something that comes into your mind and then write down the description of the characters of the story.

- If you're working on a story of your own from your imagination and creativity, it would actually be the other way around. You'll have to write down the description of your own characters before your start writing your own story. That way you'll know what you want your characters to do and what scenes and ideas you want to add to your story. You might need to write down what you're story is about after or before you start writing the description of your characters. It's like putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

Advice #3:
- If any ideas ever come to you in your mind while doing all this, write them down in a notebook/Journal or type it in microsoft word (or whatever works for you) and save it for later.

Advice #4
- It doesn't matter if your stories are logical or not, all you have to do is just free your mind, feel the flow, and your creativity and your imagination skills will become natural.

- Don't be worried or be afraid too much because being worried and afraid about how your characters and stories are going to look like are what keeps you from being creative (and making you drawing blocked)

- Don't compare yourself, your capabilities, or your art skills to anyone. Just be yourself and have faith in your capabilities and your skills.

FOR CHARACTERS:

Advice #1
- Write a description about your characters (Including your Creatures) that way you'll know what you want them to look like or how they behaive.

For Example:
- Personality
- Outfits
- Physical Appearance (Hair, Eyes, and etc)
- What they can do
- Gender
- Age
- Colors

Advice #2
- For deciding what color you want them to have, try using the color wheel to decide what color you want your characters to have and to help you figure out what color matches or goes with the colors on the color wheel. Like Secondary, Primary, or etc.

For Example:
Like StarFire from the Teen Titans:
Her Eyes are Green, Her outfit is puprle, and her skin is Orange - The Orange, Green, and Purple are Secondary Colors. And Starfire has Red Hair. Because Orange is a combination of Red and Yellow, Purple is a combination of Red and Blue, & Green is the opposite of Red.

Advice #3:
- You can even use other artists and animators' creations, anime, and characters as inspirational references as well. However, there are times that you might want to ask the people's permission first before you do.

FOR IMPROVING MANGA STORYTELLING:

Advice #1:
- For Ideas:
1.) Watch some anime shows, cartoons, movies, and your favorite shows and movies
2.) You can surf on the internet to study about mythology and other kinds of storys for references

Advice #2:
- If you're a visual person, you can read and visualize some comic books and manga, and watch some movies and anime to use for inspirational references that way you will imagine and picture a scene in your head and be able to draw what ever comes into your mind.

Advice #3:
- You can also try drawing and make manga based on how you feel or your emotions like happy, funny, or etc.

For example:
1.) If you're angry at someone, you can imagine yourself as a character like a hero and anything that kicks that persons but just to let out your anger

Advice #4:
- You can try listening to music or your favorite songs and imagine characters doing anything in your mind by the rhythm of the music your listening to. Like music that makes you think of battling, sadness, or etc. (like on all those AMV clips from Youtube and the Disney Movie "Fantasia")

Trust me, there is no easy way to make all this so quickly and nobody in the world makes several of their creations in one week or 2 months. Cause just to let you know, Everybody makes mistakes and errors when they start on their creations including the animators in the modern time such as Japanese Animators. No animator or artist is perfect and they never make their creations without making mistakes. It actually does take you and everyone alot of time to make your own creations. Just like it took James Cameron 5 years to make the Avatar movie.
